Supervisor of Elections Office Announces 2026 High School Voter Registration Drive

Press Releases

Broward County, FL – The Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office will once again partner with Broward County Public Schools, as well as select private and charter high schools, to host its annual High School Voter Registration Drive (HSVRD), taking place April 1 through April 30, 2026. The initiative is designed to encourage civic participation and help the next generation of voters pre-register or register to vote. The goal of this year’s program is to register at least 10,000 students.

“Engaging students early helps build lifelong habits of civic participation,” said Broward County Supervisor of Elections Joe Scott. “Our High School Voter Registration Drive gives students the opportunity to learn about the voting process and take their first step toward becoming active participants in our democracy.”

Throughout the month, our outreach team will assist students with the voter registration process and provide information about the importance of participating in elections. Schools will receive on-site support from elections staff to help coordinate registration efforts.

At the end of the drive, the schools that register the most students will be recognized by the Supervisor of Elections for their participation and commitment to civic engagement.

Students who choose to register online should visit RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov. To complete the online application, applicants must provide both a Florida driver license or Florida identification card number and the last four digits of their Social Security number. Students participating through their school should forward their confirmation email to hsvrd@BrowardVotes.gov and include the name of their high school in the message. Students may also provide the completed form to elections staff during the school’s scheduled visit. A complete schedule of school visits for the 2026 High School Voter Registration Drive can be found at: BrowardVotes.gov/hsvrd

The High School Voter Registration Drive has been a longstanding program in Broward County, helping thousands of students begin their journey as voters. Florida law allows students who are 16 or 17 years old to pre-register to vote. Students who are 18 and meet eligibility requirements may register to vote if they are U.S. citizens and have no disqualifying felony convictions or have had their rights restored.
