How to Be Prepared for the Upcoming November 5, 2024 General Election
Broward County, FL. – Tuesday, November 5, 2024, is the 2024 General Election. All voters who were registered by October 7, 2024 are eligible to participate. Voting hours on Election Day are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and voters must vote at their assigned precinct. To find your assigned precinct, visit our Election Day Precinct Finder.
Here are the important reminders to ensure you're prepared:
- Identification Requirements: Florida law requires voters to present a photo ID with a signature at the polling place. A list of acceptable forms of ID is available on our website. Please note that your ID must match your current signature on file.
- Vote-by-Mail ballots may be dropped off at any of our nine Supervisor of Elections
offices throughout the county on Monday, November 4th and Tuesday, November 5th from 7:00
a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For a complete list of drop-off locations, visit BrowardVotes.gov.
- Voters can no longer use their Vote-By-Mail ballots as a guide at the polls if they decide to vote in person. If a voter brings their Vote-By-Mail ballot to the polls on election day to use as a guide, they must surrender it to a poll worker to be marked ‘canceled”. However, voters may take a screenshot of their Vote-By-Mail ballot to use the image in the voting booth as a reference. Alternatively, voters may download a universal sample ballot or a personalized sample ballot, print it, and use that ballot as a guide while voting in person.
- Voter Information Card: Your voter information card is not required to vote but can help you verify your district and polling location. Ensure you know your polling place before Election Day by checking your voter information card or using the online precinct finder. If you’ve recently moved, you must vote in your new home precinct.
- Provisional Ballots: If you arrive without proper ID, Florida law requires you to vote using
a Provisional Ballot. Provisional ballots are always counted when the voter’s eligibility is confirmed.
- Election Results: Results for the 2024 General Election—including Vote-by-Mail ballots, Early Voting, and Election Day votes—will begin streaming on our website at 7:00 p.m. on Election Night. The results will be updated frequently until all precincts have reported.
