Election Information

Registration Date and Book Closing Information

 If this is a new registration application, the date the completed application is postmarked or hand delivered to a driver’s license office, a voter registration agency, an armed forces recruitment office, the Division of Elections, or the office of any Supervisor of Elections in the state will be your registration date.

If this is a new Florida application, you must be registered for at least 29 days before you can vote in an election. If your application is complete and you are qualified as a voter, a voter information card will be mailed to you.


ELECTION DATES FOR 2026

Municipal Elections - March 10, 2026

Lauderhill and Pembroke Pines (Districts 1 and 4) will conduct municipal elections in March. Candidates in Hillsboro Beach, Lazy Lake, Lighthouse Point, and Sea Ranch Lakes were unopposed, and as a result, no elections will be held in those municipalities.

Window to send vote-by-mail ballots to domestic voters: January 29 - February 5, 2026

Window to register to vote (Book Closing): February 9, 2026

Window to request that ballot be mailed: February 26, 2026
The window to request that a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed is no later than 5:00 p.m. (local time) on the 12th day before the election.

IMPORTANT: The window for a vote-by-mail ballot to be returned and received by the Supervisor of Elections Office is no later than 7:00 p.m. (local time) on Election Day.

*Early voting will not be available for the municipal elections.

Primary Elections - August 18, 2026

Window to send vote-by-mail ballots to domestic voters: July 9 – 16, 2026

Window to register to vote (Book Closing) or change party affiliation: July 20, 2026

Window to request that ballot be mailed: August 6, 2026
The window to request that a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed is no later than 5:00 p.m. (local time) on the 12th day before the election.

IMPORTANT: The window for a vote-by-mail ballot to be returned and received by the Supervisor of Elections Office is no later than 7:00 p.m. (local time) on Election Day.

Early voting period: August 8 – 16, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

General Elections - November 3, 2026

Window to send vote-by-mail ballots to UOCAVA voters: September 19, 2026

Window to send vote-by-mail ballots to domestic voters:  September 24 2026 – October 1, 2026

Window to register to vote (Book Closing):  October 5, 2026

Window to request that ballot be mailed: October 22, 2026  
The window to request that a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed is no later than 5:00 p.m. (local time) on the 12th day before the election.

IMPORTANT: The window for a vote-by-mail ballot to be returned and received by the Supervisor of Elections Office is no later than 7:00 p.m. (local time) on Election Day.

Early voting period:  October 19 – November 1, 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
