I joined the Broward County Supervisor of Elections in January 2015. I have 20 years of experience as a Director in both the corporate and non-profit sectors, I welcomed the opportunity to now be serving in local government. My doctoral Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration, with a concentration in Law and Public Policy is from Walden University. I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies from Purdue Global University and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
I am a member of Pi Alpha Alpha, the Global Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration. My responsibilities involve implementing policies, procedures, resource management, and advising on policy matters. I am also a member of the National Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), where I contribute as an expert, researcher, advocate, and thought leader on issues and innovations impacting today’s evolving workplaces. I am committed to empowering people and workplaces by advancing Human Resources practices and maximizing human potential, while ensuring legal and ethical compliance with laws, company policies, regulations, industry guidelines, and standards.
As the Human Resources Director, I am responsible for planning and managing all functions related to Human Resources Management for the organization. This includes overseeing the recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of employees; consulting with management on strategic planning; and serving as a link between the organization’s management and its full-time, permanent, and temporary employees. I work year-round to plan for a workforce that best suits the organization and utilizes employees’ talents; I also plan, administer, and oversee all HR-related processes. Additionally, I develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the mission and vision of the organization, while ensuring legal compliance throughout Human Resources processes.
It is my great pleasure to serve the community in this capacity.
