Media Invited to Attend Closing Ceremony on Friday, August 7 at 10 a.m.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office will celebrate the successful completion of its 2026 Summer Internship Program with a closing ceremony on Friday, August 7, 2026.
The program, under the direction of Dr. Susanne Timmons, Ph.D., MFCEP, welcomed local high school and college students representing a variety of academic disciplines. Interns gained real time hands-on experience supporting election administrators and staff across multiple departments, including Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations, Voter Services, Logistics and Administration.
During the program, interns developed professional skills, learned about public service and contributed to the office’s mission of conducting secure, accurate and transparent elections.
“Our Summer Internship Program reflects our commitment to investing in the next generation of public servants and leaders,” said Supervisor of Elections Joe Scott. “We are proud of what our interns have accomplished, and we hope this experience inspires them to continue pursuing excellence while making a positive difference in their communities.”
The closing ceremony will recognize the interns’ dedication, accomplishments and contributions. The event will include the presentation of certificates, recognition by office leadership and photo opportunities with Supervisor Scott, Chief Deputy Mary Hall, department directors and supervisors.
