Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Election Supervisors Unite to Encourage Voter Participation Ahead of November Election

First-ever Tri-County news conference set for September 23 at the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Headquarters

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — In a historic move to boost voter turnout, the Supervisors of Elections for Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties will hold a joint news conference on Wednesday, September 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Headquarters. The 2026 General Election will be held Tuesday, November 3. The deadline to register to vote is Monday, October 5.

Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia, Broward County Supervisor of Elections Joe Scott and Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Wendy Sartory Link are joining together with one unified voice to encourage every eligible resident to register, stay informed and vote in the November General Election. The regional initiative is being held ahead of Florida’s October 5 voter registration deadline and will emphasize the importance of voter education and participation in elections at every level of government.

“Presidential elections often receive the most attention, but the decisions made by our local and state leaders are often the ones that affect our everyday lives the most. Turnout is traditionally lower during nonpresidential election years, but together, we have an opportunity to change that. Whether you choose to vote by mail, vote early or vote at your assigned polling place on Election Day, I encourage you to make a plan and choose the option that works best for you. It's important to make your voice heard,” said Broward County Supervisor of Elections Joe Scott.

“A strong democracy depends on informed and engaged voters. Palm Beach County is proud to join Miami-Dade and Broward counties in a regional effort to promote voter registration, voter education and election participation. As September is recognized as Palm Beach County’s Voter Registration Month, we invite every eligible citizen to register, stay informed and be ready to make their voice heard at the ballot box. Together, we can strengthen civic participation and ensure every voice has the opportunity to be heard in the upcoming elections,” said Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Wendy Sartory Link.
